Autonomous Driving

Intelligent motorways for connected mobility.

Integration of advanced technologies for a connected and safe mobility.

Movyon has initiated several testing programmes in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano in the area of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems.
The aim is to digitise the road infrastructure, equipping it with advanced technologies to support autonomous driving, improving the driving experience and ensuring improved safety.
The tests aim to enable increasingly precise interaction between vehicles and infrastructure, thanks to the installation of antennas along the roads, which allow real-time communication.
This communication thus offers a comprehensive view on mobility, amplifying the already existing technological capabilities of autonomous vehicles and increasing their reliability. These developments are supported by the collaboration with Autostrade per l’Italia, which has made it possible to start the first open traffic road tests on the A26 in July 2023, with 20 km driven by autonomous driving vehicles.
The testing activities also involve tests on the precision positioning of vehicles, even in areas with poor GPS signal, such as tunnels. Through the use of vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems, the vehicle will be able to maintain the same level of driving autonomy, even in the absence of satellite coverage. These tests, together with the development of available technologies, are the foundation to enable a reliable and safe development of autonomous driving.

Research & Development

We collaborate with startups, research centers and universities, in Italy and abroad, to develop solutions that improve operational processes and introduce new features, making mobility more efficient, safe and sustainable. As the technology hub of the Autostrade per l’Italia Group, we are committed to developing advanced solutions for improving mobility, with applications ranging from motorways to urban infrastructure.
