Discover the future of traffic monitoring with FALCO.
FALCO is an innovative solution for traffic monitoring using remotely piloted drones, managed by traffic control centers. The drones operate in Bvlos (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) mode, departing from nests installed to house the devices, allowing them to take off, recharge, and automatically replace the battery, so they can fly over the assigned area and send video feeds to the control center staff about traffic conditions and infrastructure status.
The flight missions are planned in advance or conducted on-demand for specific events (such as traffic jams, fires, or missing materials). All operations are carried out in compliance with a strict safety protocol. The aerial view also allows monitoring of road signs, construction sites, road pavement conditions, and greenery. All of this information is useful for quickly deploying law enforcement and rescue teams if needed and for identifying areas where infrastructure maintenance or restoration is required.
This technology is particularly useful in areas where cameras cannot reach, such as difficult terrains or areas far from main routes.
FALCO accelerates decision-making processes in critical traffic situations, improving safety, reducing response times, and optimizing emergency management costs.
Initial results from trials confirm the tangible benefits of this technology, which integrates seamlessly into the Autostrade per l’Italia network, positioning FALCO as a pioneer in autonomous aerial monitoring systems.
